Currency Rules Update - May 2026
This release includes updates to currency‑specific validation rules across multiple corridors. These changes aim to improve regulatory compliance, align with local clearing requirements, and reduce payment rejections due to missing or incorrect data.
Validation Rule Updates
NGN-NG: The maximum length of the beneficiary name has been increased to 140 characters.
CRC–CR: Beneficiary Tax ID validation rules have been updated based on beneficiary type:
- Local Individuals : Tax ID must be 9–10 digits. Prefix 0 is now allowed.
- Foreign Individuals: Accepted Tax ID prefixes are now 1 or 5.
- Government Beneficiaries (New)
- New beneficiary type introduced.
- Tax ID must be 10 digits.
- Accepted prefixes are 2 or 4.
CAD–US: Beneficiary address details are now mandatory for CAD payments to the US.
The following fields are required:
- Beneficiary Address Street
- Beneficiary City
- Beneficiary Postal Code
- Beneficiary Region
- Beneficiary Country of Residence
SGD–SG: Beneficiary address is now mandatory for all SGD payments
The following fields are required:
- Beneficiary Address Street
- Beneficiary City
- Beneficiary Country of Residence
Purpose of Payment Code (POP) Updates
THB–TH: The following POP code labels have been updated to reflect new regulatory descriptions.
(POP codes remain unchanged.)
- 318028 – Fees for advisors, technical assistance, and academic knowledge (including remuneration for specialists)
- 318034 – Property rental
- 318068 – Condominium purchase / Final payment to complete property purchase
UGX–UG: New Purpose of Payment (POP) codes have been introduced for UGX payments. The new codes are optional (non‑mandatory) and can be used for all new UGX payments.
