Currency Rules Update - Dec 2025

This release includes updates to currency rules as detailed below.
Decommissioning of BGN:
BGN (Bulgarian Lev) will be replaced with EUR for all future payment from 1st January 2026. This would mean that any API quote requests for BGN would return an error once the currency has been decommissioned from our systems. You can now make EUR payments to Bulgaria using an IBAN.
Purpose of Payment code updates
- For IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) payments to Indonesia, the Purpose of Payment code field is now optional.
- For any currency payment to Kenya, the list of acceptable Purpose of Payment codes has been updated. Refer to Currency Rules API for the updated list of Purpose of Payment codes.
- For KWD payment to Kuwait, the Purpose of Payment code field is now mandatory. Refer to Currency Rules API for more details.
- For any currency payment to Qatar, the Purpose of Payment code is now mandatory. Refer to Currency Rules API for more details.
